The RSA Executive Committee has implemented updated guidelines to ensure consistency and fairness in how membership benefits are applied.

If an individual attended the annual meeting under a membership type but did not pay their annual membership dues, the current billing for annual membership dues must be completed before they will be eligible to pay the next year's annual dues. This applies because they have already received member benefits for the current year, including but not limited to: discounted meeting rates, potential access to the journal Alcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research (ACER), and any other member privileges.

For individuals wishing to join as new members, anyone who applies during the new billing cycle that starts each year between October 1–December 31, will be billed for that upcoming billing cycle only.

Membership dues are not prorated.

Please note: RSA is strengthening enforcement to prevent individuals from utilizing membership benefits without payment. Any member who has not paid their annual dues by March 1 of the current billing cycle will be moved to “non-member” status and will no longer have access to member benefits.
